Abstract
The study of the behavior of dams and embankments under conditions of earthquake loading has been the subject of much study during the past decade. As a result major advances have been achieved in understanding the nature of soils under cyclic loading and in the development of analytical tools for the study of the dynamic response of embankments to earthquake loading.
