Cyclic Apparatus Using Frictionless Air Piston
Publication: Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division
Volume 104, Issue 7
Abstract
Cyclic loading of soils has become an important area of modern soil mechanics due to present consideration of cyclic loads induced on foundations during the occurrence of earthquakes I or ocean storms, or both. Consequently, increasingly large numbers of cyclic shear tests are required to define the appropriateness of foundations designed for cyclic conditions.
