Flow at Interface of Two Anisotropic Soil Zones
Publication: Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division
Volume 102, Issue 11
Abstract
Flow-nets have proved extremely useful in solving problems of steady seepage. If the soil mass can be considered homogeneous and isotropic, it is found from Darcy.s Law and the criterion of continuity that the Laplace equation is obeyed. The sketching of flow-nets in thus made easy and has been described at length in the literature. This procedure can be extended to a soil mass consisting of two or more isotropic zone with the help of the following well-known condition at any interface.
