Abstract
The most common procedure for measuring the diffusivity of unsaturated soils is the infiltration test. This note considers the use of the soil column infiltration test on expansive clay and provides a numerical approach to analyze the test as it is generally performed. Consideration is given only to the test carried out in the so-called confined state.
