Abstract
A series of tests was performed whose objective was to measure stress distributions in triaxial compression samples with lubricated and nonlubricated end conditions. Results for both conditions are presented. Conclusions discuss compression testing techniques that represent near-ideal conditions for the reliable observation of stress-strain behavior in soil samples.
