Risk Analysis of Loading and Unloading Operations of Railway Hazardous Chemicals

Publication: ICTE 2019

ABSTRACT

The loading and unloading operations of railway hazardous chemicals are the frequent accidents-prone link in the railway freight process. It is necessary to carry out risk identification and countermeasure research. Therefore, taking light oil unloading operations as an example, the HAZOP risk identification method is used to identify the potential risk factors during unloading operation in this paper. The risk level of the identified factor is assessed by the popular Dow F&E index method. Finally, some technical countermeasures were proposed to reduce the risk of dangerous goods unloading operations.
