Abstract
Jiaxing became the city with the second-largest aging population in Zhejiang province in 2017. Bus is the main travel mode for most elderly people, which has a great impact on commuters by bus, especially during morning and evening peak hours. Based on the behavioral characteristics analysis for the elderly’s bus-travel in Jiaxing, this paper establishes a binary logit model which takes the departure time of elderly’s bus travel as dependent variable, and the personal attributes, family attributes, and travel attributes of the elderly as independent variables. The model parameters are estimated by Stata, and the results show that age, working situation, shopping travel, and bus-travel time affect the choice of departure time for the elderly’s bus travel significantly.
