Optimization Method of Superelevation Transition for Oval Racing Tracks

Abstract

The paper deals with the design method to solve drainage difficulties and reduce the maximum of longitudinal slope in the superelevation transition for oval racing track. The cross section linear equations are established to suit for drainage in different sections. The intervals are divided with the variation characteristics of the superelevation transition for oval racing tracks. The continuously varying rotation axis for superelevation transition and the constraint equations of cross section are proposed based on different intervals. The design method can be accurately used to solve the constraint equations and the longitudinal slope with the aid of a computer. Finally, they provide very good practicality when demonstrated by taking Bloss curve as an example. The research results of the paper have important practical value for designing the superelevation transition for oval racing tracks. They have certain reference value for the future research of super highway with design speeds of over 120 km/h.
