Abstract
The purpose of this study is to obtain the horizontal displacement field of Nantou County 89th County Road 12.3K’s landslide and its surrounded area based on particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique. The obtained orthophotographs, which were taken in 2008 and 2009, were analyzed by using the PIVview2C software to do the PIV analyses. The results show that the maximum horizontal displacement is about 6.07m in this study area, but 90.4% of the calculated displacement magnitude is less than 2.5m. The major moving direction is toward the azimuth 247.5°-292.5°. The results of PIV analysis can quickly obtain the surface movement magnitude and direction compared with the traditional methods.
