Abstract
When the pseudo-static method is used to analyze the seismic stability of homogeneous soil slope, the earthquake load is computed on the basis of seismic coefficient figure of earth-rock dams according to Chinese standard for engineering slopes in water resources and hydropower projects. With a single free surface, the dynamic characteristic of a rock slope is significantly different from that of a shear wedge which is taken as the basis of earth-rock dams. With a great deal of FEM analysis by time-history method with viscoelastic artificial boundaries, the distribution law of seismic coefficients and its influence on the slope height, rock DEM, slope angle and foundation range in rock slope are concluded. The results are valuable on evaluation of slope stability, and can provide important reference in the pseudo-static method.
