Abstract
Subway station in modern city is a densely populated area, and there is a great amount of population movement. Once an internal explosion happened in the subway station, it will result in a huge number of casualties. A finite element model of Shenyang single arch subway station with LS-DYNA software was set up in this paper to analyze personnel injuries of an internal explosion by numerical simulation method. The overpressure peak of different reference points from the source for an explosion shock wave had been analyzed, compared with the allowable criteria for personnel protection given in the USA DoD manual and the NATO standard, and the situation of personnel injuries had been obtained. In addition, the impact of the station entrance and staircase to personnel injuries were also considered in this paper. The numerical results in this paper can provide a reference for the casualties' assessment of blasting in subway station in the future.
