Abstract
Asphaltic materials consist of wide range of distribution of particles. The several order of magnitude differences in the stiffness between the constituents (aggregate and binder) cause a wide range of stress and strain distribution within the microstructure. This study aims to using two schemes to analyze the microstructure of asphalt composites to identify the effective particle size and effective material properties.
