Abstract
A centrifugal test of a geogrid reinforced embankment with lime-stabilized soil as backfill on soft clay was conducted to investigate the reinforcement mechanisms. A finite element model was developed to simulate the centrifugal test based on the test dimensions. Verifications of the numerical model were taken by comparing the numerical results with the measurements obtained from the centrifugal test, and it was found that both were in good agreement.
