Updated NOAA Precipitation Frequency Estimates for Hawaii

Abstract
The rainfall frequency atlases and technical papers published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) serve as de-facto national standards for rainfall intensity at specified frequencies and durations in the United States. This paper reports on updating frequency estimates for the Hawaiian Islands. The new estimates will be contained in NOAA Atlas 14 Volume 4 which updates both Technical Paper No. 43, "Rainfall-Frequency Atlas of the Hawaiian Islands for Areas to 200 Square Miles, Durations to 24 Hours, and Return Periods from 1 to 100 Years" and Technical Paper No. 51, "Two- to Ten-Day Rainfall for Return Periods of 2 to 100 Years in the Hawaiian Islands".
