Abstract
An archive of hourly gridded multisensor precipitation estimates, covering much of the conterminous United States, is available for a period beginning in the mid-1990's and extending to the present. These estimates are based primarily on radar and rain gauge data, with some satellite and subjective estimates included by human analysts. This paper describes sources, characteristics, limitations, and interpretive software for these data, as well as evolving multisensor precipitation estimation systems.
