Abstract
A TMDL under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act (CWA) is the maximum amount of a pollutant that a water body can assimilate without violating water quality standards (WQSs) and the allocation of that amount to contributing sources of the pollutant (anthropogenic and natural) plus a margin of safety.
