Abstract
The paper deals with the main features and the results of a field trial related to a jet grouting treatment in very soft peaty soil; for this soil the technical literature offers few reference examples in terms of operative parameters and treatment effectiveness: actual average diameter, compressive strength and deformability parameters of the treated soil. The trial field was instrumented to monitor the induced vertical and horizontal displacement, the excess pore pressure values and the dissipation velocities. The actual column diameters were evaluated by means of direct measurements of the top of the columns and by means of a cross holes technique. The test was carried out by Rodio S.p.A., one of the largest foundation contractor in Italy.
