Best Paper Awards

Our goal in publishing papers is to make useful contributions to the state of knowledge and practice for transportation engineering. We also attempt to recognize the outstanding papers published in the Journal. Each year, the editorial board considers nominating papers for awards. Only those papers receiving at least one award-quality designation in the review process are considered by the editorial board. The final selection is made by the editor in chief on the basis of the ranking by the editorial board. The role of the referees in selecting the best paper as well as in enhancing the quality of the Journal is absolutely critical. They are the pillars on which the reputation of the Journal rests, and we all owe them our gratitude. A listing of past Best Paper Awards and this year’s award recipient appears below.
