Introduction

It is our great pleasure to publish the third anniversary issue of the Journal in conjunction with publication of special issue papers from the International Conference on Pipelines and Trenchless Technology (ICPTT), held in October 2011 in Beijing.
Thanks to our authors, subscribers, reviewers, and associate editors, the Journal has exceeded all expectations, with more than 200 papers received and 63 papers published. Our goal for the coming year is to expedite the review process and provide authors with quality reviews within 45 days or less. In return, we would like to request that our authors become members of our review board. Please contact me with any questions or suggestions.

ASCE Pipelines 2013

The ASCE International Pipelines 2013 Steering Committee cordially invites you to attend ASCE’s International Pipelines 2013 Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, June 22–26, 2013. More than 250 abstracts for paper presentations have been submitted. We sincerely look forward to your participation in this international conference as a presenter, sponsor, exhibitor, and/or attendee. We see the conference as a wonderful opportunity to network with industry colleagues in a global perspective. Our goal is for you to leave the conference with a greater insight into pipelines and trenchless construction.
ASCE’s special annual pipeline conferences have great history of success, with up to 600 attendees and 60 to 70 exhibitors every year. It is one of the best ongoing conferences serving the pipeline industry and related engineering community. Owners, design consultants, academia, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers from around the world attend this annual event.
The conference will begin on Saturday, June 22, with the Pipeline Research Symposium (traditionally held every six years) and Pipeline New Technologies. Several preconference workshops are planned for Sunday, June 23. The Welcome Reception and exhibition opening on Sunday evening will mark the start of the official conference. Conference organizers are developing concurrent technical tracks, with sessions beginning the morning of Monday, June 24, to enhance opportunities for the attendees to hear and participate in discussions with industry leaders in the topic areas of their choice. The technical sessions end with a keynote presentation just before lunch on Wednesday, June 26. A golf tournament and technical tours have been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The conference will be held at the Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel. Check the Pipelines 2013 website for more information: http://content.asce.org/conferences/pipelines2013/call.html.
