In the section “Governing Equations for Solid/Liquid Two-Phase Flows,” the interfacial momentum balance condition for Eq. (2) is not in the correct form. Generally, the equation for momentum conservation of two-phase flows is
αkDkukiDt=αkgi1ρkαkpxi+1ρkσkijxj+fkiρk
where the interphase action fki satisfies ffi+fpi=0. In the paper, because Fki is defined as Fki=fki/ρk in Eq. (2), the correct form of the interfacial momentum balance condition is ffi+fpi=ρfFfi+ρpFpi=0 instead of Ffi+Fpi=0. This error only occurs in the declaration of variables, and the interfacial momentum balance condition is not used elsewhere; thus, the rest of the paper is not affected.
