Call for Papers

Publication: Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice
Volume 139, Issue 4
The ASCE Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice is soliciting papers for another special issue on Sustainability Education in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Papers are being solicited both for the peer-reviewed technical paper section and for a more practice-oriented forum section (forum items are reviewed by the editor, but they are not fully peer-reviewed).
As is the nature of sustainability, the paper topics may cover a vast range of issues, with a focus on educational applications and research. Papers may relate to the following:
Incorporation into existing undergraduate and graduate classes;
Development of new courses with a sustainability focus;
Mechanisms for conveying sustainability metrics into design courses;
Continuing education opportunities;
Enhancement in the K–12 arena;
Evaluation of sustainability topics that would benefit civil engineering education and practice; and
Evaluation of novel techniques for sustainability education, particularly with respect to understanding and analyzing the complex and dynamic systems of sustainability.
Please submit the manuscript electronically at http://www.editorialmanager.com/jrneieng/ by December 31, 2013; include a cover letter that designates it for this special issue and specifies whether it is for the technical paper or forum section.
Thank you very much.
