Oswald Rendon-Herrero, Ph.D., P.E.
Oswald Rendon-Herrero is a consulting engineer in Mississippi involved in the investigation of building foundation and soil failures and the reconstruction of construction accidents. His experience working in soil technology and geotechnical engineering dates from 1957. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He is professor emeritus at Mississippi State University, member of the ASCE Technical Council on Forensic Engineering (TCFE), and associate editor of the ASCE Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities. His peer-reviewed research is cited in geotechnical and hydrologic textbooks. Dr. Rendon-Herrero is a member of ASCE, the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE), and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He is a Ford Senior Fellow of the National Research Council (University of Rhode Island, 1981) and a Fulbright Fellow (Ecuador, 1987).
