Errata for “Axial Compression Behavior of Augered Cast-In-Place (ACIP) Piles in Cohesionless Soils” by Fred H. Kulhawy, Hon.M.ASCE and Jie-Ru Chen, in Advances in Designing and Testing Deep Foundations (GSP 129), Ed. C. Vipulanandan and F. C. Townsend, Jan 2005, 275–289. [Also in Advances in Deep Foundations (GSP 132), Ed. C. Vipulanandan and F. C. Townsend, Jan 2005 (on CD-ROM).]

Please note the following corrections, necessitated because of an unfortunate spread sheet calculation error.

These corrected results indicate that, for ACIP piles with D/B>15 , the Meyerhof method under-predicts by a factor slightly less than 0.5, the Reese and O'Neill method under-predicts by a factor of about 0.75, and the Kulhawy method over-predicts by a factor of about 1.1.
