Collaboration in the Engineering Classroom

Publication: Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice
Volume 119, Issue 3

Abstract

Graduate students use collaborative design and review teams to simulate situations they will encounter in their professional employment. This paper discusses how the graduate students work as teams on a bridge‐design project. The student teams also review and critique the completed written designs of other teams and lead the class discussion when the project results are presented orally in class.
