Microcomputer Applications in Traffic Engineering

Publication: Journal of Transportation Engineering
Volume 112, Issue 1

Abstract

The state‐of‐the‐art programs for microcomputers in traffic engineering are surveyed and reviewed. Several applications of the programs are presented regarding facilities management, traffic analysis and design, data collection and processing, traffic studies, and preprocessors and postprocessors to traffic models. A number of issues related to the use of microcomputers in transportation organizations are also examined.
