Calculation of Moments on Top Slab in Single-Cell Box Girders
Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 129, Issue 1
Abstract
A new approach is presented for the calculation of moments on top slab in single-cell box girders. Using the classic thin plate theory, trigonometric series solutions for bending moments of the top slab under local distributed load and concentrated load with elastically clamped boundary conditions are derived. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the application of the proposed method.
