Abstract
Prestressed concrete segmental box girder bridges have been used in America for the last 16 yr. The cross section of a segmental prestressed concrete box girder usually has transverse cantilevers, which may incorporate transverse post‐tensioning. The transverse cantilever decks of the Southway Bridge were load tested to verify the design. The experimental results are presented and compared to the design analytical models used to predict the structure's behavior.
