Statistical Analysis of Timber Bridges
Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 109, Issue 8
Abstract
Because of large variations in the longitudinal modulus of elasticity of wood it is almost impossible to determine actual values of dead and live load moments and shears in a timber bridge. An approach is presented to calculate the mean values of moments and shears and their coefficients of variation.
