Boundary Solutions for Fluid‐Structure Interaction
Publication: Journal of Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract
The boundary integral equation method is formulated to calculate hydrodynamic pressures in a reservoir Impounded by a dam and subject to horizontal ground vibrations. The dam is assumed to be either a rigid body or a thin elastic structure. The radiation condition for infinite reservoir is treated using a hybrid method. Good agreement between present numerical results and analytical solutions is observed for the cases where water depth is a constant. Numerical results are also obtained for nonuniform water depth cases.
