Editor’s Note
Publication: Journal of Environmental Engineering
Volume 133, Issue 5
I now have a few months under my belt as the Editor of the Journal. Yes, it has been a lot more work than I had anticipated. But I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. One of the bright spots in this job has been getting to know and work with the Associate Editors. These ladies and gentlemen are truly a dedicated group of professionals. They represent you. They work hard to make sure that your submissions get a fair review, that the quality of the Journal is maintained, and that we continue to advance the state of the profession. And, they do it voluntarily. Take a look at the first page of the Journal this month and take a moment to recognize these fine individuals. If you happen to know one or more of them, think about how you can say thanks. Perhaps send a short e-mail message, or maybe make a quick phone call. I can assure you, it will be greatly appreciated.
In reviewing the abstracts of papers being published in other ASCE Journals this month, I thought our readers would be interested in the following:
Burlingame, M. J., Egin, D., and Armstrong, W. B. (2007). “Unit weight determination of landfill waste using sonic drilling methods.” J. Geotech. Geoenviron. Eng., 133(5).
Kikkert, G. A., Davidson, M. J., and Nokes, R. I. (2007). “Inclined negatively buoyant discharges.” J. Hydraul. Eng., 133(5).
Niezgoda, S. L., and Johnson, P. A. (2007). “Case study in cost-based risk assessment for selecting a stream restoration design method for a channel relocation project.” J. Hydraul. Eng., 133(5).
