Electroremediation of Contaminated Soils

Publication: Journal of Environmental Engineering
Volume 128, Issue 3

Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive review of the literature on electroremediation of soils. Laboratory studies of the technique are outlined, mechanisms of contaminant transport discussed, and major factors affecting the decontamination process examined. Enhancement techniques and hybrid processes are considered and examples of field trials and commercial applications described.
