Value of Monod's Affinity Constant in Activated Sludge

Abstract

In mixed species, mixed substrate cultures represented by aggregate variables such as biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, or volatile suspended solids, the magnitude of Monod's affinity constant Ks is an indicator of the number of species and substrates present.
