Structural Health Monitoring Collection

Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a relatively young but ever-growing research area in civil engineering for performance evaluation and decision making. It has yielded numerous real-life applications that ensure public safety and longer service life. Both research efforts and applications in SHM are set to expand significantly, given the ever-accelerating advances in sensor, data, communication, artificial intelligence technologies and decision making. This collection offers a sampling of SHM-themed papers that appeared in the ASCE libraries in recent years, which range from theoretical to experimental studies and includes case studies involving buildings and bridges.

This collection is curated by Ertugrul Taciroglu, Ph.D., F.EMI, M.ASCE, University of California–Los Angeles, F. Necati Catbas, Ph.D., P.E. F.ASCE, F.SEI, University of Central Florida, Eleni Chatzi, Ph.D., D.Eng., C.Eng, A.M.ASCE, ETH Zurich, and Babak Moaveni, Ph.D., M.ASCE, Tufts University. The journal and proceedings papers are open to registered ASCE Library users through 8/12/22. Click here to register for free.
