Special Collection on Hydrologic Challenges Under Climate Change

Climate change has induced researchers to re-examine virtually all aspects of hydrology including data observation, frequency analysis, hydrologic design, identification of extreme events, calibration and validation of models, infrastructure regulation, and risk management. Despite advancements in both statistical and physics/process-based models, there is no clear consensus on how to accommodate effects of climate change in a practical manner for risk-based design. The kinds and frequencies of data collection needed to assess and predict under climate change are not yet well understood. Characterization of uncertainty under climate change further confounds what is already a very complex problem. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of this journal, this special collection aims to shine a spotlight on this important topic thereby stimulating discussion and exploring pathways that have the potential to offer solutions to the myriad challenges that the
