Special Collection on Teaching Hydraulic Engineering and Design

Guest Editors:
Blake P. Tullis Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Utah State University
Brian M. Crookston Assistant Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Utah State University

The purpose of this Special Collection is to share novel experiential teaching techniques for academic and workplace environments in the context of hydraulic engineering and design. A combined depth in both knowledge and experience are key in the development of successful engineers as they tackle the wide variety of hydraulic‐related water problems. The collection, storage, treatment, distribution, and conservation of clean drinking water; waste and storm water management, energy production; and industrial and agricultural water applications remain the foundation of a healthy civilization and still hold many challenges in need of solutions. The papers herein offer creative recommendations and techniques to aid teachers of hydraulic engineering in improving effective student learning in a variety of settings and environments.
